What is Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) and how to prevent it?

• SIDS is when your child passes away while sleeping.

• There is no exact cause, but there are steps you can take to help prevent it:

  • Don't ever sleep with your baby.

  • Keep the crib boring, no fluffy frills, no stuffed animals.

  • Have your baby wear tight fitting pajamas and a tight fitting sheet or blanket (or swaddle)

  • Keep loose items out of the crib or bassinet
